Here’s a little about me, so you can perhaps understand me and the blog a little better.

I’m David McCarthy, a man on a journey!

From the age of 13 I was aware of suffering from depression.

It’s taken me up until the age of 20 (now) to find a path out of depression, that doesn’t involve self-harm or suicide.

After resorting to substance abuse, cutting myself & withdrawing from society, I decided enough was enough, and I started fervently researching my own condition; Depression. I picked up books on positive-mental-thinking, went to CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) classes and prayed a lot to God and whatever else may be out there.
Life is becoming more clear, but my life is always going to be clouded whilst I see other people suffering from depression.

From suffering for so long and from such an early age, I know quite extensively what symptoms to look for in people when it comes to depression, and I hope to be able to create a simple route for everyone to be able to escape depression, without having to set foot in a stuffy doctors office and get accused by hordes upon hordes of people of “having nothing wrong with you” – That comment just makes you feel worse, when you suffer from depression.

Speaking about your problems isn’t hard-work. It’s liberating, therapeutic and can also be fun. More on that later.
Keep-up with my blog and you’ll see how together we can all overcome depression
